Case study · Wonder Works · Blagoevgrad · Dec 2025, ongoing
Three websites in ten months. We test everything on ourselves first.
Our own website is our first client. We've rebuilt it three times in ten months, and that's on purpose: every idea we bring to a client's site, we try on ours first, in public, with the results dated. We spend less time on old-style SEO than most agencies would, because we don't think a list of ten blue links is where search is heading. It still matters for your business today, and we do it properly for every client who needs it. On our own site we build for tomorrow: a website that AI assistants can read, quote and use. Here's what changed, and what happened.
- 3
websites in ten months, each one rebuilt on purpose

- 130

tools AI assistants can use on our site, since 29 October 2026
What changed each time?
Site 1Dec 2025 to Jul 2026
Dark, cinematic, the two of us on the front page.
Built fast to get us started, with a line we still like: we don't market your business, we make people trust it. It taught us the first lesson the hard way: every page had the same title and description, so to Google our whole site looked like one page wearing different clothes.

Site 2Jul to Oct 2026
Loud orange, the price on the front page, an AI on duty.
Bilingual, with the monthly price up front, pages prepared for search engines before they reached the browser, the business facts in machine-readable form and an AI chat assistant. ChatGPT started recommending us in English. The lesson: we were still building on someone else's platform, and every change waited on it.

Site 3Since 3 Oct 2026
Our own code, built for the people and the machines.
Built from scratch on our own code, every page written natively in English and Bulgarian, with its own editor. Every page carries a plain-text copy for AI, the business facts and prices in the form Google and AI read, and since 29 October, tools AI assistants can use directly. Google's speed test gives the home page full marks, and 58 pages were improved in a single day on 22 October.

Why do we spend less time on old-style SEO?
Because we don't think the future of search is a page of ten blue links. More and more often people ask an assistant, and the assistant answers with a business or two, read straight from websites that are built to be understood. Traditional SEO still matters for your business today, and we do it properly for every client who needs it. On our own site, though, we build for where we believe search is going and test it on ourselves first, in public, with the results dated. What works goes into our clients' sites. What doesn't, you never pay for.
That's the whole idea behind the Lab.
What does AI say about us now?
We ask the AI assistants the same question a business owner in our town would ask. Before the move to our own site, ChatGPT didn't mention us at all. Now ChatGPT and Perplexity both name us first, and quote our own Bulgarian pages to do it. Gemini doesn't name us yet, so that's the next test.

What does an AI assistant see when it visits?
People see our home page. An AI assistant reads something else: a clean copy of the same page in plain text, our business facts and prices in a form it can't misread, and a short list of tools it can use to answer a question about us without guessing. Scroll and watch one turn into the other.

Every experiment we run on our own site, dated, with the numbers updated as they come in.
We switched on WebMCP
The first experiment: eight read-only tools AI assistants in Chrome can use on our site.

What happens to what we learn here?
It goes into client work, once it has earned its place. On 13 October we rebuilt how darleys.com is served to Google the same way as our own site, every page as its own page with the menus as real text, and in the next two weeks clicks from Google to Darleys more than doubled, from 661 to 1,410. Read the Darleys case study. The new website for Kato Edno Vreme is being built the same way now.
Questions
Why has Wonder Works rebuilt its own website three times?
+
Because our own site is where we test things before we bring them to clients. Each version taught us something real, about how Google reads a site, about building on someone else's platform, and about what AI assistants need, and each lesson went into the next one.
Does Wonder Works still do traditional SEO?
+
Yes, for every client who needs it. It still matters for most businesses today. On our own site we spend more of our time on what we think comes next: being the answer AI assistants give.
Can AI assistants use the Wonder Works website?
+
Yes. Since 29 October 2026 our site offers eight read-only tools that AI assistants in Chrome can use through WebMCP: prices, services, case studies, Lab experiments, article search, a search across all our pages, business details and contact options. Every page also has a plain-text copy written for AI.
Does Wonder Works use AI to build websites?
+
Openly. AI runs a big part of how we work, from code to research, on the latest Claude and Codex models, and it's a large part of why we can build, rebuild and test this quickly and stay affordable. The decisions, the checking and the creative thinking are ours.
