Eurovision 2027 in Burgas: What AI Tells Visitors

Eurovision comes to Burgas in May 2027, and the people coming are already planning, many of them by asking an AI. So we asked first. We put 35 of the questions that fans, crews, Bulgarians travelling to the coast, Burgas residents and local businesses ask to ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, three times each, and checked Google too. They named 227 businesses. Only 20 Burgas businesses were named by all three.

Here is who they are, what the assistants got right and wrong, where they read, and what a hotel, restaurant, bar or taxi in Burgas can do now, while there is still time.

Key findings

What ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity told people about Eurovision 2027 in Burgas, asked on 4 November 2026:

  • Only 20 Burgas businesses were named by all three assistants, out of 227 businesses named in 350 answers. Hotel Bulgaria, Avenue Hotel and Grand Hotel & Spa Primoretz were named most.
  • 165 of the 225 businesses the assistants named came from one assistant only. Gemini alone named 96 that neither of the others did.
  • The basics were mostly right: 52 of 54 answers got the dates, the venue, the airports, the currency, the Eurovision Village and the tickets right.
  • Asked a Burgas resident's question, Gemini twice said that Eurovision is not being held in Burgas, and four more of its answers did not know Bulgaria is the host.
  • 15 answers still quoted prices in leva, ten months after Bulgaria switched to the euro, including every Perplexity answer about taxi fares.
  • The assistants read eurovision.com first (91 answers), then Wikipedia and a wave of new Eurovision in Burgas travel guides. Burgas businesses' own websites were hardly ever cited.
  • Four of the 20 businesses all three named have no website of their own.

When and where is Eurovision 2027?

Eurovision 2027 is at Arena Burgas, on the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria: the first semi-final is on Tuesday 11 May, the second on Thursday 13 May and the Grand Final on Saturday 15 May 2027. Bulgaria hosts for the first time, after DARA won in Vienna in 2026. The planning started the day Burgas was announced, and so did the searching.

Same question, four different answers. Pick a question. These are the businesses each assistant named on its first go, in the order it named them, beside what Google showed on its map from Burgas. A name that turns up in more than one answer lights up.

Which Burgas businesses do ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity all recommend?

20 Burgas businesses were named by all three assistants: six hotels, seven restaurants, two bars and five ways to get around, led by Hotel Bulgaria, Avenue Hotel and Grand Hotel & Spa Primoretz. Each assistant gives its votes: the number of answers it named the business in. Watch them come in, round by round, the way the real scoreboard does. Every one of these was named by ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, out of 227 businesses named in total. The names link to their own websites; four of the 20 have none we could find.

Five more were named by all three but are not Burgas businesses: Airbnb, Booking.com, Sixt, BDZh (the national railway) and Union Ivkoni (coaches). We are not connected to any business on this list, and nobody paid to be on it.

Do ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity agree about Burgas?

Hardly at all. Of the 225 businesses the assistants named, 165 came from one assistant only. Gemini alone named 96 that neither of the others did.

Gemini named the most (150), then ChatGPT (98) and Perplexity (62). Perplexity was the most careful: 73 of its 105 answers named no business at all.

Is AI right about Eurovision 2027?

Mostly, on the basics: 52 of the 54 fact-check answers were right. We asked the questions every visitor needs answering first and checked each answer against the official facts. Nine dots per question: three assistants, three goes each.

What does AI get wrong about Eurovision in Burgas?

The biggest mistakes were not knowing Bulgaria is the host, quoting prices in leva and reading the wrong page. We asked the question a Burgas resident would ask: which streets will be closed during Eurovision? Twice, Gemini answered without searching the web, and said the contest was not happening.

    Two denied it, one said the host city was still to be chosen, and three about becoming a supplier talked as if it was. Gemini skipped the web search we asked for in 11 of its 105 answers.

    Bulgaria has used the euro since 1 January 2026. All three Perplexity answers about taxi fares gave them in leva only, read from pages nobody has updated.

Where do AI assistants get their Burgas information?

Mostly from eurovision.com, Wikipedia and a new wave of Eurovision in Burgas travel guides, hardly ever from Burgas businesses' own websites. Every website the assistants cited, sized by how many answers cited it. The official Eurovision site came first, in 91 answers. Right behind it is something new: a wave of Eurovision in Burgas guides from travel startups and booking sites, written in the last few weeks and already being read. Very few Burgas businesses' own websites were cited at all.

How can a Burgas business get recommended by AI before Eurovision?

By making sure what the assistants read about it is complete and true: euro prices, English pages, exact distances, a full Google profile and a place in the guides they already read. Everything here comes from what the answers showed. None of it needs a big budget, and most of it is worth doing whether or not AI is involved, because the same information helps the guest who finds you on Google, Booking or a friend's message. Pick your kind of business to see only your steps.

    What we saw

    165 of 225 businesses were named by only one assistant, and the same assistant often changed its list between goes. Being named once by ChatGPT tells you very little about Gemini or Perplexity.

    • Ask ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity the questions your guests ask, for example the ones on this page, three times each.
    • Ask in English the way a fan from abroad would, and in Bulgarian the way someone from Sofia would.
    • Write down who they name, what they say about you, and any wrong price, address or opening hours.

    Put every price in euro, everywhere it appears

    What we saw

    15 answers still quoted prices in leva, ten months after the switch to the euro. The assistants read old pages, old menus and old listings, and repeat them.

    How

    • Your own website, including PDF menus and price lists.
    • Your Google Business Profile, Booking.com, Tripadvisor and Facebook page.
    • Taxis: put your euro fare per kilometre and the starting fee on your website, in English too. Every Perplexity answer about Burgas taxi fares gave them in leva only.

    Say exactly how far you are from Arena Burgas, the port and the station

    What we saw

    Asked which hotels are closest to Arena Burgas, Perplexity took its distances from a page about a football stadium. When nobody states the facts plainly, the assistants guess from whatever they can find.

    How

    • A short page or section, in English and Bulgarian: minutes on foot and by taxi to Arena Burgas, the Eurovision Village at the Port of Burgas, Burgas Central Station and the airport.
    • Use the real names people search for, written the same way everywhere.
    • Say how many rooms you have, whether you take groups and long stays (crews ask for several weeks), and how guests get back late at night.

    Give the English speaker what they ask for

    What we saw

    Fans asked in English for traditional Bulgarian food and restaurants near the arena. The places all three named, such as Ethno Restaurant, Diverso and Tenyova Kashta (Shadow House), are the ones the English-language guides and review sites describe clearly. Four of the 20 on the scoreboard have no website of their own, so the assistants rely entirely on what others write about them.

    How

    • An English menu on your website as a real page, not only a photo or a PDF.
    • One line in plain English that says what you are: for example a fish restaurant in the Sea Garden, a craft beer bar on Aleksandrovska, a family hotel two streets from the beach.
    • The same name, address and phone number on your website, Google and every listing.

    Get into the guides the assistants already read

    What we saw

    Behind eurovision.com, the most cited sites were new Eurovision in Burgas guides and local guides: mestala.com, myburgas.com, navoy.io, escburgas.com, info.gotoburgas.com and more. They are where the assistants take their names from, and they are still being written.

    How

    • Find the guides for your kind of business: search "Eurovision 2027 Burgas" with hotels, restaurants or taxi, and look at the sites on this page.
    • Write to them with your facts: what you are, where, prices in euro, a good photo, and what you offer in Eurovision week.
    • Ask your real guests for a review in the language they speak. Never buy reviews or write your own: it breaks the rules of every platform and the assistants are learning to spot it.

    Make your Google Business Profile complete and exact

    What we saw

    Google's map and hotel results came up for the questions about places to stay and eat, and the assistants often name the same places. A wrong or half-empty profile shows up in both.

    How

    • The right category, opening hours, phone, website, and photos from this year.
    • A description in English and Bulgarian.
    • Add special opening hours for 11 to 16 May 2027 as soon as you know them.

  7. SpringMarch and April 2027

    Publish your Eurovision week, plainly

    What we saw

    People asked where to watch the final without a ticket, whether bars will stay open later, and whether prices will go up. Nobody could answer for a business that had said nothing.

    How

    • If you will show the shows on a screen, say so on your website and your Google profile, with times and whether to book.
    • Say what your hours will be that week, and what a stay or a meal will cost, in euro.
    • Be careful with the name: "Eurovision" and its logo are the EBU's trademarks. Saying you show the final is fine; making it look like you are an official partner is not. If in doubt, ask a lawyer before you print anything.

  8. The week11 to 16 May 2027

    Answer fast and keep everything up to date

    What we saw

    The assistants read the web as it is the day they are asked. What you change in the morning can be what they say in the afternoon.

    How

    • Change hours, menus and availability the moment they change.
    • Answer messages and reviews quickly, in the language they came in.
    • After the contest, keep the page: people will ask the assistants about Burgas for years.

Nothing on this list buys a place in an AI answer, and nobody can promise you one. Be wary of anyone who does. What these steps do is make sure that when an assistant reads about you, what it finds is true, in euro and in English.

How we did it

We wrote 35 questions the way six groups of people really ask them: fans coming from abroad, production crews and journalists, Bulgarians travelling to the coast, Burgas residents, Burgas businesses and the rest of Bulgaria. Visitors' questions were asked in English; Bulgarians' questions in Bulgarian. Each one had to be a question people really ask and one a local business depends on.

  • ChatGPT, as people in Bulgaria see it in the app
  • Gemini (gemini-3.8-flash) and Perplexity (sonar), with web search switched on
  • Google, searched from Burgas, for its map and hotel results

We asked each assistant every question three times, because the same assistant often answers differently a minute later. That makes 315 AI answers and 35 Google searches, all on 4 November 2026. We read every answer, wrote down every business named, joined the different spellings of the same business, and checked the fact questions against the official sources. Google's AI overview would not show for automated searches that day, so it is not included; we will try again at the next run.

When and where is Eurovision 2027?

At Arena Burgas, in Burgas, Bulgaria. The first semi-final is on Tuesday 11 May 2027, the second on Thursday 13 May and the Grand Final on Saturday 15 May 2027, according to the official Eurovision FAQ.

Are Eurovision 2027 tickets on sale yet?

Not as of 4 November 2026. The official FAQ says tickets are not yet on sale, prices have not been announced, and only people with a free Eurofan account on eurovision.com will be able to buy them. Eight of the nine AI answers to our Bulgarian ticket question said the same; one Gemini answer thought the host city had not been chosen yet.

Where is the Eurovision Village in Burgas?

The city has chosen the Port of Burgas, which was still to be approved by the EBU as of 15 October 2026. Eight of the nine AI answers to this question said the port; one ChatGPT answer said the city centre and the Sea Garden.

Asked in Bulgarian which taxi in Burgas is the most reliable, all three assistants named Indikar Taxi on every go; Gemini and Perplexity also named Eco Taxi and Burgas Taxi. Eco Taxi, Burgas Taxi, Indikar Taxi and Supertrans Taxi were all named by all three across the study.

Can I trust AI to plan a trip to Eurovision in Burgas?

For the basics, mostly yes: dates, venue, airports and currency were right in every answer. For anything else, check: the assistants disagreed on almost every business, quoted old prices in leva and sometimes read the wrong page. Check prices and opening hours with the business itself.

Does AI know Eurovision 2027 is in Burgas?

Mostly. All nine answers to "When and where is Eurovision 2027?" were right: Arena Burgas, 11, 13 and 15 May 2027. But six Gemini answers to other questions did not know Bulgaria is the host, and two answers to a Burgas resident's question said it was not happening.
